Medicare Fall Enrollment: Review Your Coverage

It’s that time again—Medicare’s annual enrollment window runs October 15 through December 7. This is your opportunity to review, adjust, or personalize your coverage for the year ahead. For 2026, Part D out-of-pocket costs will be capped at $2,100, with an estimated rise to about $2,400 in 2027. If you’re considering Medicare Advantage, remember that annual maximums can reach $9,250. Before you decide, be on the lookout for your annual notice in late Q3 detailing any changes in cost, benefits, networks, or available plans. It’s essential to compare options based on your doctors, medications, preferred pharmacies, travel or relocation plans, and unique care needs—plans can vary more than many expect. If you’re already enrolled in Medicare Advantage, you’ll have an additional window from January 1 to March 31 to switch plans or return to original Medicare. And don’t forget, free counseling is always available. As someone who specializes in guiding individuals through these choices, I know how much clarity and confidence the right plan can bring.
